About US

Studio Synergy instructs the original, authentic method of Pilates.  Every Pilates instructor at Studio Synergy has been certified by Romana's Pilates - a training program developed by Romana

Kryzanowska, the protege of Joseph H. Pilates.  Students of this program undergo over 600 apprenticeship hours as well as a multitude of rigorous tests to ensure that they are teaching the safest, most effective Pilates possible in the way that Joseph H. Pilates intended.  At Studio Synergy, you will receive professional instruction from experienced instructors.

 

Studio Synergy maintains a client-oriented environment.  All classes and lessons are customized for the students present.  Each workout will be different based on the students’ needs that day. You will leave the studio feeling and looking better.

 

 

Jen has been instructing the Authentic

method of Pilates in St. Louis since June 2006.

She served in the U.S. Navy from 1997 to 2005, where she was awarded a commission as a Surface Warfare Officer. During her tour of duty she served on two warships based out of Norfolk, VA, as Gunnery Officer and Auxiliary Officer, respectively.  Later she became the Protocol Officer and Aide to the Commander Naval Surface Forces U.S. Atlantic Fleet, a two-star Admiral.

 

A lifelong proponent of physical fitness, Brokaw discovered her passion for Pilates while training at a studio in Virginia Beach, VA, where she decided to change direction with her life and pursue Pilates as a profession.  She trained in the Authentic Method of Pilates under master teachers Romana Kryzanowska and Sari Mejia-Santo, completing her certification in June 2006.

 

A native of St. Louis, Jennifer and her husband, Cullen, moved back to the area in January 2006 and currently reside in Imperial, MO. with their three children.

Melissa Wingbermuehle

Melissa is owner of Transitions Massage Therapy, LLC. A graduate of The Healing Arts Center of St. Louis in October 2010, Melissa is state licensed and nationally certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She uses an integrated massage by blending healing techniques to create a massage experience tailored to your individual needs. Her blended techniques are derived from Swedish massage, Myofascial Therapy, Shiatsu, Deep Touch, Reiki and Pranic Healing, among other specialties. By using knowledge, expertise and intuition, along with your requests, we will create your unique session.

 

As a business owner, a wife, mother of three, a massage instructor and a Zumba instructor, she knows what it’s like to juggle a busy schedule and then try to find time for yourself. Working out has always been hard for her to do.  Melissa has always had a passion for dancing, so Zumba was a perfect opportunity for her to have fun and get in shape. Massage and Zumba are Melissa’s escape. This is her time to better herself, so she can be better for the ones that depend on her. Let Melissa help you with your escape today!

 

Somjad

- Owner of NukSuThai, LLC

Somjad is the professor or "Ah-Jaan" of Modern Ninjitsu/Close Combat.  He teaches a combination of traditional Ninjitsu with the modern techniques of Close Combat.

 

Unlike what you see in the movies, there is a real martial-art behind Ninjitsu.  Ninjitsu training requires discipline, focus, hard work and dedication.  Ah-Jaan Somjad has taught and traveled throughout Europe to acquire the skills needed to teach the art of the Ninjas.  Although he has trained in multiple disciplines including Karate, Kung-fu, Thai boxing, Viet Vo Dow, Aikido, Judo and weapons training, Ninjitsu was what he ultimately focused on with a passion.  Students will be trained and acquire the skills needed to become the ultimate Ninja Warrior.

History

Zumba is a dance fitness program created by

Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez during the 1990s. Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. Zumba's choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo and martial arts. Squats and lunges are also included. Zumba Fitness, an organization that sells Zumba videos and products, does not charge licensing fees to gyms or fitness centers. Approximately 14 million people take weekly Zumba classes in over 140,000 locations across more than 150 countries.

Joseph H. Pilates developed his method of

"Contrology", later to be called Pilates, in the early 1900's.  His more than 500 exercises have helped generations to become stronger and more flexible.  The benefits of improved posture and balance as well as longer, leaner muscles are a direct result of the synchronizing of both body and mind that Pilates creates.

Massage therapy dates back thousands of years.  It's many benefits include decreased anxiety, enhanced sleep quality, greater energy, improved concentration, increased circulation and reduced fatigue. The massage techniques used by Transitions Massage Therapy, LLC are hand picked for each client to meet the individual's needs.  Most bodies need deeper work in some areas of tension or tightness and lighter work in other areas.  Your mental and emotional state may also affect what type of massage you prefer on a given day.  A weekly one hour massage will unwind all the stress that a day can produce in your mind, body and spirit.
