About US

Jen has been instructing the authentic

method of Pilates in St. Louis since June 2006.

In addition to instructing at her own studio, she lectures at the Washington University School of Medicine to Physical Therapy students.  Jen attended the U.S. Naval Academy from 1997 to 2001, where she earned a degree in Systems Engineering and was selected as an All-American Rugby player.  Upon graduation, she was awarded a commission as a Surface Warfare Officer. During her tour of duty she served on two warships based out of Norfolk, VA, as Gunnery Officer and Auxiliary Officer, respectively.  Later she became the Protocol Officer and Aide to the Commander Naval Surface Forces U.S. Atlantic Fleet, a two-star Admiral.

 

A lifelong proponent of physical fitness, Brokaw discovered her passion for Pilates while training at a studio in Virginia Beach, VA, where she decided to change direction with her life and pursue Pilates as a profession.  She trained in the Authentic Method of Pilates under master teachers Romana Kryzanowska and Sari Mejia-Santo, completing her certification in June 2006.

 

A native of St. Louis, Jennifer and her husband, Cullen, moved back to the area in January 2006 and currently reside in Imperial, MO. with their three children.

Studio Synergy instructs the classical method of Pilates.  Pilates instructors at Studio Synergy have been certified through world renowned training programs including Romana's Pilates (A highly intensive curriculum developed by Romana Kryzanowska, protege of Joseph H. Pilates) and Core Dynamics Pilates (A teacher training program dedicated to Pilates history, principles and mindful movement).  Students of these programs undergo hundreds and even thousands of apprenticeship hours as well as a multitude of rigorous tests to ensure that they are teaching the safest, most effective Pilates possible in the way that Joseph H. Pilates intended.  At Studio Synergy, you will receive professional instruction from experienced instructors.

 

Studio Synergy maintains a client-oriented environment.  All classes and lessons are customized for the students present.  Each workout will be different based on the students’ needs that day. You will leave the studio feeling and looking better.

Red Light Therapy:

Red light therapy uses red and near infrared light to penetrate deep into the skin for a healing effect. It gives damaged cells the energy necessary to heal themselves with the help of specific wavelengths of light. Our medical grade lights have been shown to reduce wrinkles, promote collagen production, and reduce inflammation in the skin. They have also been shown to aid in muscle recovery, provide pain relief and improve sleep and circulation.

REGINA BELLORA

-Classical Pilates Instructor and Yamuna Body Rolling Practitioner

 

Regina Bellora started her career in Pilates in 2001. Not an athlete or a dancer, Regina took the long road to understanding her body to find balance. That in turn has given her a passion to help people connect with their bodies in order to build a strong foundation. This has lead to a diverse career spanning the United States and Europe, she has taught the art, philosophy and movement to thousands, from beginner to advanced.  Regina strives to get her clients to move with precision and strength while having some fun along the way!  Regina is classically trained in Pilates and is a certified Yamuna Body Rolling Practitioner.

Lisa Norris

Lisa Norris has been a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor since 2007. She enjoys working with all ages and abilities, but also has specialized training in Senior Fitness and Yoga. Lisa has many clients with chronic conditions, such as Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s and MS. She works with these clients to improve balance, range of motion, and improve their overall quality of life.

 

Lisa can also help clients lose weight, increase their strength and flexibility, and improve their performance.  She meets with all her new clients to discuss their goals and develop an effective plan. Her passion, knowledge and experience in exercise and nutrition can help you reach your goals.

History

Joseph H. Pilates developed his method of

"Contrology", later to be called Pilates, in the early 1900's.  His more than 500 exercises have helped generations to become stronger and more flexible.  The benefits of improved posture and balance as well as longer, leaner muscles are a direct result of the synchronizing of both body and mind that Pilates creates.

Just like we as humans need food, water, and oxygen to function properly – we also need healthy light. Sunlight regulates our brain’s chemistry and vital circadian rhythms that control appetite, energy, mood, sleep, libido and much more. Every metabolic process, every enzyme reaction, muscular movements, the digestion of food, and the burning of fat are all biological processes that are augmented by natural light energy.
